What's free, what's paid, and what happens after the trial

Updated October 1, 2026

Treadle is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. There is a free plan, a trial, and a paid licence.

Free

  • One pre-built deck. It is set up for you, not empty.
  • Every built-in action.
  • Shortcuts. See Use a Shortcut as an action.
  • Unlimited paired devices.

The trial

On first launch you get 14 days fully unlocked. When the trial ends, Treadle falls back to the free plan. Nothing is lost.

Paid

The paid licence is a one-time $29 and includes two years of updates. See Updates. After the window you can renew for about $15 for more updates. A lifetime tier was $39 for the first few hundred buyers.

Paid unlocks:

After the trial ends

Nothing is deleted. Your decks stay on your panel. The paid ones are greyed out until you buy. The moment you activate a licence they come back exactly as you left them.

Buying and refunds

Payments go through Paddle, the reseller and merchant of record. Refunds are 30 days, no questions asked. To buy and activate, see Activate, deactivate and move to a new Mac. Questions: support@gettreadle.ca.
